Tonight at 7 p.m. HBO and HBO Canada premiere A Family Is a Family Is a Family, a 40-minute special executive produced by Rosie O'Donnell.
As seen in the above preview, the special largely features interviews with children about what family is all about. And though same-sex parents seem to be the focus of the teaser trailer, the New York Daily News reports they are but a small portion of the show's larger message.
"A Family Is a Family Is a Family argues that constricting definitions are irrelevant, a family is whatever it is and if it works for the children, it's doing what a family needs to do," it says.
Rosie's last collaboration with HBO, the 2006 documentary All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise, was nominated for an Emmy (and also almost made me cry).
So I'm definitely looking forward to the warm fuzzies that will result from Rosie's latest celebration of family.
